DISINFECTION.
During the year under review the Council has given careful
consideration to the question of the provision of a new Disinfection
Station in lieu of the existing premises, the tenancy for which
expires in January, 1923. These premises have now been in use for
30 years and are in a very unsatisfactory condition.
The Council finally decided to erect new buildings at the
Tunnel Avenue Depot to include also baths and a cleansing station
for verminous persons and children. It is hoped to utilise the
present disinfecting apparatus.
In July, Tenders were invited to carry out the necessary works,
and the tender of the National Building Guild, Ltd. (London Regional
Council) was accepted for the sum of £2,150.
At the end of the year the works were still in course of construction.
The following tables summarise the work carried out by the
Disinfecting Staff during the year :—
