Eighteen of the cases removed to Hospital were discharged and
notified to be still suffering from Chronic Rhinitis, 4; Chronic
Rhinorrhcea, 3; Chronic Otorrhœa, 9; Slight Otorrhœa, 2; Intermittent
Ottorhœa, 1; Total, 19.
A series of 14 cases arose in the Autumn, all in one district, and
on enquiry it was found that they were ail supplied from one Dairy.
On investigating there it was found that they were chiefly on one milk
round.
The boy who left the can at the doors was himself found to be
suffering from the disease, and after his removal to Hospital no
further cases arose.
The proprietors of the dairy rendered us every assistance possible
in enquiring into this matter, and fortunately the discovery of
the boy patient put an end to what might otherwise have been a
very serious outbreak.
The following table gives particulars of the 10 cases which
would seem to be " return cases." There were 7 such cases in 1921,
6 in 1920, 6 in 1919 and 2 in 1918.
