medical practitioners for bacteriological investigation from
patients suspected to be consumptive; 191 were reported to be
negative and 80 positive.
Disinfection has been offered and carried out in 77 cases, including
94 rooms and 506 articles of bedding, etc.; disinfectant
has also been supplied to patients to disinfect sputum, etc., and
sputum pots where such are found necessary.
HOUSES INSPECTED AND ENQUIRIES MADE IN
CONNECTION WITH INFECTIOUS DISEASE.

One thousand two hundred and thirty-three notifications were
received, the Health Visitor visiting each case, and revisiting when
required.
During the year, when premises have been entered for the
purpose of carrying out disinfection after cases of Infectious
Disease, the following books belonging to the Libraries, etc., were
destroyed:—
Central Library, 30; School Libraries, 2; Total, 32.
The following special disinfections were carried out during
the year:—
March—Royal Hospital Schools, Greenwich Infirmary.
Trafalgar Quarters.
November—Sixteen Class-rooms at Maze Hill Schools.
