The Birth Rate for the County of London equals 18.3 per
1,000 of the population. The Birth Rate for all England and Wales
was 18.5.
Under the provisions of the Notifications of Births Act, 1907,
intimations have been received from medical men, parents, and
others, with respect to 2,085 births.

The total number of deaths registered during 1919 was 1,372,
of which 776 were males and 596 females. The crude Death Rate
for the Borough of 13.15 per 1,000 compares with 13.4, the Death
Rate for the County of London, and 13.8 the Death Rate for the
ninety-six large towns.
The Death Rate in the various Metropolitan Boroughs varied
from 11.2 in Hampstead and Wandsworth, 11.4 in Lewisham, 12.1
in Fulham, 12.2 in Woolwich, 12.4 in Camberwell up to 14.9 in
Kensington and Southwark, 15.2 in St. Marylebone and Finsbury,
15.7 in Shoreditch and 16.2 in Holborn.
Locally the Death Rate varied from 18.56 in West Greenwich,
13.10 in Charlton, 12.84.in St. Nicholas, 10.58 in East Greenwich
to 6.88 in Kidbrooke.
