Membranous Croup. Two cases of Membranous Croup were
notified during the year.
Erysipelas. One hundred and eleven cases were notified
during the year, 37 being in East Greenwich, 36 in West Greenwich,
16 in St. Nicholas, 16 in Charlton, and 6 in Kidbrooke.
Nineteen of these patients were removed to Public Institutions in
the District.
Scarlet Fever. Five hundred and twenty-five cases were
notified during the year, as compared with 556, 328 and 435 cases
respectively, in the three preceding years; 173 cases were in East
Greenwich, 234 in West Greenwich, 41 in St. Nicholas, 50 in
Charlton, and 27 in Kidbrooke; 491 of these cases were removed
to the Hospital for treatment. There were 4 deaths from this
disease during the year as against 7 last year.
Seventeen of the cases removed to the Hospital as suffering
from Scarlet Fever were returned as wrongly diagnosed, i.e., 2
stated to be Tonsillitis, 1 Rotheln, 1 Ringworm, I Measles, no
alternative disease being stated in the remaining 12 cases, while
11 patients on discharge were still suffering: 4 from Chronic
Otorrhcra, 2 from Rhinorrhoea, 1 from Otorrhcea, 1 from
Chronic Rhinitis, 1 Chronic Otorrhcea and Rhinitis, 1 Conjunctivitis
and Chronic Otorrhoea and 1 from Watery nasal discharge
and parents were duly notified of this.
The following Table gives particulars of the four cases which
would seem to be "return cases." There were 5 such cases in
1912, 7 in 1911, and 4 in 1910.
