School Cases.βThe number of notifiable and non-notifiable cases of
infectious diseases reported by the schools in 1914 was 897. There is still
a great variation in the number of children notified by the different schools,
as is shown by the following Table.
In some cases the homes are visited, and advice is given to the parent,
when there is no medical practitioner in attendance. Information is also
given to the various schools, if there are contacts continuing to attend school,
who have not suffered from the disease notified.
