Food Supbly.—The dairies and milkshops, the icecream
shops, and the kitchens of restaurants, &c., were
kept under systematic observation by your inspectors.
Proceedings were taken in respect of a shop which
was used as a dairy without notice having been given
to the Council, and a penaltv of £2 was imposed.
The licences of seven slaughter-houses in the
borough were renewed by the London County Council
in October, no objections being raised by the Borough
Council.

Unsound Food.—Proceedings were taken against
Messrs. Merritts, 236, Uxbridge Road, in respect of a
cooked leg of pork, which was seized by the Sanitary
Inspector as being unsound and unfit for food, and
of which a portion had been previously sold to a
customer, and a fine of £25 with £2 2s. 0d. costs was
imposed.
Bakehouses,—The 62 bakehouses in the borough
have been regularly inspected. Fifty-three defects were
discovered upon the premises during the year, and
notices served upon the bakers calling upon them to
comply with the regulations of your Council, were
promptly complied with.
