Tuberculosis.
Information concerning deaths from Tuberculosis will be found on
pages 28 and 29.
Measles.
This disease is compulsorily notifiable in Hampstead under the
Borough of Hampstead (Measles) Regulations, 1920.
During 1923, 209 cases were notified and 2 deaths occurred.
Whooping Cough.
This disease is not compulsorily notifiable in Hampstead; our
principal source of information of the occurrence of cases is the Head
Teachers of Schools Four deaths were due to Whooping Cough in
1923.
Diarrhœa and Enteritis.
Nineteen deaths at all ages from Diarrhoea and Enteritis occurred
in 1923, of which 10 took place among children under two years of
age.
Principal Epidemic Diseases.
All of these, with the exception of whooping cough, are notifiable
diseases, and information concerning them is set out in Section 3 of
this Report.
