Deaths at Various Ages. The following table shows the number of deaths at the various uge periods, the causes of such deaths being shown in Tables III. and IV., pages 145 and 146.

It is interesting to note how with the increasing age of the population,
the proportion of deaths at ages of 25 and upwards have also
increased in recent years.

Uncertified Deaths.
The deaths of 2 Hampstead residents in 1914, were " uncertified."
According to the instructions of the Registrar-General, all deaths
certified by registered medical practitioners and all inquest cases are
classed as " certified," and any other deaths are regarded as " uncertified."
Deaths in Institutions.
The number of deaths of Hampstead residents that occurred in
institutions was 298 or 32.8 per cent, of the total deaths of residents.
91 deaths took place in workhouses or workhouse infirmaries, equivalent
to 30 per cent. of the deaths in institutions or 10 per cent. of the
total deaths of Hampstead residents.
