The number of new eases of tuberculosis in this ward that have
been notified to me during 1914 is much in excess of those in other
districts of the Borough, but the factors above referred to should be
borne in mind in this connection, as in the case of the death-rates from
pulmonary tuberculosis.

The following table shows the age distribution of the patients dying from consumption in Hampstead in the twelve years 1903-1914:—

It is clear from the foregoing that the majority of the deaths from
Pulmonary tuberculosis occur at the principal wage-earning periods of
life. The following table shows the deaths during the past twelve years
