Deaths.—The deaths registered in the Borough during 1920
numbered 3,030 ; but of these 679 were deaths of non-residents
who died inside the Borough. There were, however, 510 residents
of Hackney who died during the year outside the Borough. On
making the necessary corrections, the corrected number of deaths
amongst Hackney residents is 2,861. This is an increase of 14
upon the number of deaths occurring during 1919. The general
death-rate from all causes for the year 1920 is 12.7 per 1,000 of
the population.
Amongst the Registration Sub-districts the death-rate was lowest in the North Sub-district (11.5 per 1,000), and highest in the South-east Sub-district (14.2 per 1,000).
