which females were employed. Of these latter, 552 were workshops
in which articles of wearing apparel were manufactured, altered or
prepared for sale, &c., 231 in which other articles were manufactured,
&c., and 32 were domestic workshops.
Amongst the workshops manufacturing wearing apparel, there
were 391 employing females alone, and 154 employing both males
and females.
In workshops of other occupations, there were 143 employing
females alone, and 88 employing both males and females.
Of the domestic workshops, females alone were employed in
19 and both males and females in 13.
During the year notices and complaints were received from
