Senile Mortality.—The deaths which occurred in Hackney at
65 years of age and upwards during 1916 numbered 973, and of
these 444 were between the ages of 65 and 75 years, 400 between
75 and 85 years, and 129 at 85 years and upwards. The annual
mortality rate of persons at 65 years and upwards is 4.6 per 1,000.
Deaths in Public Institutions.—There were 1,365 deaths in
public institutions in the Borough during 1916; of these 617 were
residents of other districts, and the remaining 748 were residents
of Hackney.
