Registration Sub-Districts.—The total number of cases notified in these districts was as follows:—

Small Pox.—No case was notified in the Borough during the year. The
average number of cases during the preceding ten years was only 0'5.
Scarlet Fever.—1,307 cases were notified, and they showed an increase
of 359 or 38 per cent. on the average (948) of the ten years 1910-19. The
attack-rate was equal to 3.89 per 1,000 of the civil population annually, which
is an increase of 0.88 per 1,000 on the mean rate (3.00) of the preceding ten
years.
Diphtheria and Membranous Croup were responsible for 1,328 cases
of illness, and were 755 above the average (573??? of the preceding ten years
The attack-rate was equal to 395 per 1,000 of the civil population annually
and was 2.14 above the mean rate (1.81) of the decennial period.
In London the attack-rate was 3.04 per 1,000, and in the Encircling
Boroughs 3.56.
Enteric Fever was notified in 24 instances which is 23 below the
average (47) that obtained during the ten years 1910-19. The attack-rate was
0.07 per 1,000 annually, or 0.08 per 1,000 below the mean rate (0.15) of the
last ten years.
In London the rate was 0.08 and in the Encircling Boroughs 0.08 per
1,000 of the civil population.
Typhus Fever.—Nil return.
Continued Fever.—No case was notified.
Erysipelas.—165 cases were notified, or 47 below the average (212)
of the preceding ten years, the attack-rate being 0.49 per 1,000 of the civil
population, as compared with 0.57 in London and 0.68 in the Encircling
Boroughs.
