The Cleansing and Spraying of Rooms —1,802 rooms, as contrasted with 1,628 in 1917, were cleansed and sprayed.

The following class-rooms, etc., were disinfected after the occurrence in
them of cases of the diseases mentioned:—
1st Quarter. St. Mark's School, Grove Road (Influenza).
2nd Quarter. Nil.
3rd Quarter. Nil.
4th Quarter. Pakeman Street, L.C.C. Schools (Influenza).
Private School, 29, Duncan Terrace (Scarlet Fever).
Montem Street, L.C.C. Schools (Influenza).
Ecclesbourne Road, L.C.C. Schools (Influenza).
Work at the Disinfecting Station.—38,659 large articles of bedding,
etc., as detailed below, were disinfected by the steam disinfectors, at the
Council's Disinfecting Station, compared with 42,237 similar articles disinfected
during the previous year.
In addition to the above articles 182,135 old or second-hand garments,
mostly soldiers' overcoats, jackets and tunics were disinfected for clothing
contractors trading in the borough, who paid the Council £93 12s. 5d. for the
work.
