SANITARY STAFF.
I regret to have to record the death of the late
Mr. J. Cosson, Sanitary Inspector, on 1st June, 1915.
The late Mr. Cosson was a most excellent officer. He
was in the service of your Council for many years and
practically died in harness. He was a trustworthy and
very conscientious officer.
I have to record the enlistment of Sanitary
Inspectors W. Brown and A. Hayes in the Anti-Aircraft
Corps of the Royal Naval Air Service.
HOUSES LET IN LODGINGS.
During the last year the Public Health Committee
gave directions for the registration of 114 "houses let
in lodgings or occupied by the members of more than
one family." Upon the registration a copy of the Bylaws
of your Council, under which such houses are
registered, was forwarded to the landlord (within
the meaning of the By-laws) for his guidance. From
various causes 47 houses have been removed from the
list, leaving a total number now on the Register of
2,739. During the year 370 notices were served and
220 were complied with.
