During last year the Registrar-General made certain alterations
in his system of classification of deaths, in order to bring the
same more into line with all other countries. These alterations
are brought into effect in the Annual Report of the current year.

REMARKS ON VARIOUS DEATH CAUSES.
Infective Diseases.
Epidemic. There were 121 deaths due to this class of diseases,
equalling a Death Rate of 1.26 per 1,000; the rate last year
was 2.58, and was 1.54 and 1.14 in 1910 and 1909 respectively.
Zymotic. The purely Zymotic class of epidemic diseases
is credited with causing a total of 116 deaths, equalling a Death
Rate of 1.21 per 1,000.
