either by way of cleansing of the premises in 12 cases, or the
remedying of sanitary defects in 6 cases, and 1 suitable ash
receptacle required.
The provisions of the London County Council (General
Powers) Act, 1902, with reference to the name appearing on
the cart or barrow from which the commodity is sold, are
practically of no effect for the reason stated in the Annual
Report for 1909. These defects in drafting were recognised
by the Police and Sanitary Committee of the House of Commons
when discussing the London County Council (General
Powers) Bill, 1910, containing sections intending to remedy
the matter. Such sections were, however, withdrawn by the
County Council because they could not obtain the control over
this matter which they desired; accordingly, nothing has been
done under this part of the provisions relating to Ice Cream
selling in this Borough during this year.

Food Preparation . Places where food is prepared have been visited on 219 occasions, improvements being required in 43 instances, as detailed below : —
