In the early part of the year the London County Council
convened a Conference of Representatives of the London
Sanitary Authorities to consider matters relating to public
health. At this Conference practically all the Metropolitan
Cities and Boroughs were represented, and the following
resolutions, which were agreed to, will indicate the scope
of the subjects considered.
Resolutions passed at London County Council Conference
on matters relating to public health, thursday,
April 6th, 1911.
Houses Let in Lodgings. That the efficient administration
of section 94 of the Public Health (London) Act, 1891,
relating to the registration and regulation of houses let in
lodgings is a matter of extreme importance to the public
health of London.
Pulmonary Phthisis. That the principle of compulsory
notification should be extended to all cases of Pulmonary
Tuberculosis.
That the establishment of Tuberculosis Dispensaries
throughout London is urgently required.
Measles. That a better organisation is desirable in
London for the control of measles in schools.
(a) That in times of Measles epidemics all children
under five should be excluded from school attendance.
(b) That the notification of the first case of measles in a
house should be compulsory.
(c) That Infants' Schools should be thoroughly cleansed
more frequently than they are at the present time.
(d) That urgent non-pauper cases of Measles should be
admitted to the Metropolitan Asylums Board's Hospitals.
