of securing more stability for their stand, thereupon remove the
wheels from the barrow which then apparently becomes a stall or
stand and not a barrow, this stand likewise having no name or
address upon it, and in this way the provisions of the Act are
evaded.
A test case of this sort was taken before the Magistrate at the
Greenwich Police Court, when he decided that we had no case
and the summons was dismissed on the ground that the barrow
had now become a stand or stall and no barrow. The attention
of the London County Council has been drawn to this difficulty,
and it is to be hoped that an early amendment of the Act in this
respect will be effected.
Food Preparation. Places where food is prepared have been visited on 156 occasions, improvements being required in 41 instances, as detailed below :—

The 41 instances where matters needed attention included
31 cases where the premises generally, or kitchen and scullery
