The distribution of the disease in the three registration subdistricts of the Borough together with the number of deaths among both hospital and home-treated patients during 1911 is shown in the following table.

In the above table it will be seen that the disease has been
fairly equally distributed over the population of East and NorthWest
Battersea, South-West Battersea as would be expected
suffering less than the two first-mentioned districts.
One hundred and ninety-seven, or 94.7 per cent., of the cases
notified were removed to hospital. In 1910 the percentage of
cases removed to hospital was 92.3 and in 1909 94.7 per cent.
In the sub-districts the percentages of cases removed to hospital
were as follows:—East Battersea 98, North-West Battersea 97,
South-West Battersea 86.

The following table gives the age distribution of the cases notified and of the fatal cases.

The total number of houses invaded by diphtheria was 182.
In 19 houses (i.e., 10 per cent.), the drainage was found to be
defective.
