Mr. Chairman and Gentlemen,
Herewith I beg leave to present my Annual Report
on the work of the staff of the Public Health Department
for the year ended December 31st, 1913.
Respecting the sanitary work of the year generally I Annual
Report.
venture to hope you will find in the various details annexed
hereto, that every effort has been made to secure the high
level of sanitary improvement attempted in previous years.
As regards the very important matter of Housing of Housing,
the Working Classes so much has been said in previous
Reports respecting this matter that there does not appear
to be anything further left that can with advantage be

that, from financial or other reasons, we have arrived at
a deadlock so far as Housing generally and Improvement
Areas are concerned in London.
