3. Co-operation.
The Fund co-operates with the public health department of the
local authority. The medical officers of health for Greenwich and
Deptford have held weekly consultations for the Fund gratuitously,
and the official health visitors conduct the baby weighings.

Health Lectures to mothers, 48.
Number of attendances by mothers, 872.
Mothercraft competitions. An examination was conducted by the
Medical Officer in December. Three mothers gained over 50 per cent,
of the marks, whilst eight gained between 50 and 75 per cent.
Model clothes, model cots are made for and explained to the mothers,
who seem now to fully realise that it is improper to give solid food to
babies under nine months of age. They also realise the importance of
breast feeding, the danger of giving dummies, and the necessity of
separate beds for infants from birth. The medical officer attends and
gives his services when required.
