It will be observed that the birth-rate for the year is very much
higher than that for the previous year.
The birth-rate is still very high in the old parts of the borough,
particularly the East and North Wards.
Illegitimate Births.
The illegitimate births, which number 83, occurred in the several
Wards, as follows:—

North Ward 14
North-West Ward 14
South Ward 4
South-East Ward 9
South-West Ward 12
