School Cases—There is au increase in the number of non-notifiable
infectious diseases reported by the schools, the total for 1912 being
1,055, as compared with 956 in 1911. There is still a great variation in
the number of children notified by the different schools, as is shown by
the following table.
In most cases the homes are visited, and advice is given to the
parent, when there is no medical practitioner in attendance. Information
is also given to the various schools, if there are contacts continuing
to attend school, who have not suffered from the disease notified.
Altogether 111 visits were paid, in connection with measles and mumps.
