It will be seen that this year there is an increase in the number
of deaths due to measles and hooping cough. The deaths from
pneumonia, bronchitis, wasting affections, syphilis, premature
birth and suffocation in bed are more or less stationary.
As compared with last year there is a diminution in the number
of deaths due to convulsions, and all forms of diarrhoea.
Preventible Infants Deaths.—A large proportion of these
deaths are preventible and in the years to come should be prevented.
