In the North-East Sub-district 1,140 deaths occurred
amongst the residents and 1,134 in the South-West,
Forty-two persons who had no fixed home died in the
Workhouse or in the Infirmary.

DEATH RATE.
The mortality rate for the year 1911, calculated
upon the population of Bethnal Green as estimated by
the Registrar-General, is 18.06 per thousand living; this
rate is one per thousand above that of last year as
calculated upon the actual enumerated population in
April, 1910, and is also over two points above the rate
for the whole of London, which is 15.8 per thousand.
MORTALITY RATES IN SUB-DISTRICTS.
The death rate in the North-East sub-district was
17.8, and that in the South-West 17.6. These rates
are exclusive of the homeless paupers who died in the
Infirmary, as it is impossible to allocate them to any
district.
