belonging to the London County Council, is 7.78. The level
of the sewage in the brick sewer would therefore have to rise
7 feet above the invert before any of these basements could be
flooded, but the London County Council do not anticipate that
this new sewer will ever be surcharged to anything like this
extent. The new 4ft. 0in. brick relief sewer in the Devonport
Road is connected flush with the invert of the sewer in
Uxbridge Road, and will take the sewage from the Uxbridge
Road west of Devonport Road, so that the possibility of these
basements being flooded should be somewhat lessened.
The whole cost of the proposal will be borne by the London
County Council."
The work has been carried out and completed by the
London County Council.
