The annual charge for public lamps, including lighting, cleaning and maintenance of lantern, in the Brentford Gas Company's district is as follows:—

To the above figures must be added the wages of
the men employed in cleaning and repairing the
burners and the cost of renewal of mantles, chimnies,
etc., which for the year works out at 7s. 11d. per
lamp. This work is performed by the lamp-lighters
in the employ of the Gas Company.
