During 1910, the following street was paved with impervious
material:—
Square yards.
Parma Crescent 1792
It is to be hoped that this useful method of paving will be
continued by the Council in suitable localities.
Sewer Ventilation.
During 1910, seven ventilating columns were erected by the
Borough Council to ventilate their sewers in the following situations:—
Altenburg Gardens. Meteor Street.
Eccles Road. Sisters Avenue
Elspeth Road. Wix's Lane
Forthbridge Road.
During the year, complaints were fairly frequent as to the
nuisance arising from sewer ventilation on the surface of the roadway,
and in one or two instances from the upcast columns, which
have been erected by the Council to prevent nuisance arising.
These complaints were fully enquired into and dealt with by the
Council.
