DISINFECTION.
(a) Rooms.—During the year 1909 there were 2,118 rooms
fumigated, and 926 rooms cleansed by the Staff of the Public
Health Department. Amongst this number is included the disinfection
after cases of phthisis, measles and whooping cough,
The disinfection and cleansing done each month of the year is
set out in the following table.

(b) Articles of Clothing and Furniture.—The number of
articles under this head disinfected at the Millfields Road Disinfecting
Station was 15,340. This disinfection is accomplished by
means of high pressure saturated steam. The number of articles
thus dealt with was 1,297 less than during the previous year.
