Cerebro Spinal Fever.—There were six cases of this disease
notified in Hackney during 1909, all of which terminated fatally.
In two cases the specific micro-organism, the diplococcus intracellularis,
was isolated.
Glanders, Anthrax and Hydrophobia in Man.—The following
notice relating to the notification of the above disease was issued to
the Borough Councils of London in April, 1909.
NOTIFICATION OF GLANDERS, ANTHRAX AND HYDROPHOBIA
IN MAN.
The London County Council hereby give notice that, at a
meeting held on the 23rd day of March, 1909, it made an order
as follows:—
The London County Council doth hereby resolve and order
that Section 55 of the Public Health (London) Act, 1891, with
respect to the notification of infectious disease shall apply, in the
Administrative County of London, to the diseases known as
Glanders, Anthrax, and Hydrophobia in man.
The Order, which has been approved by the Local Government
Board, was duly advertised on 19th April, 1909, and will
come into operation as from and including 26th April, 1909.
