20. Prince of Wales Cottages, near Lea Bridge.—There
appears to be one closet for several tenements. The closet is in
a narrow passage open to the towing path, and is in a filthy
condition.
21. College Place.—At. No. 11 rain comes in at roof.
Baths and pails have to be placed in top rooms and on landing
to catch the rain water. Ceilings are coming down. In scullery
the rain comes in at roof. The cistern in the closet is broken.
There is one water tap for two houses in the yard, the tap is
placed over the sink that receives all waste water. Gutter is
decayed and window sills broken. The wall of house is cracked.
Outer scullery wall and yard wall need limewashing.
22 10, College Place.—This house was not visited, but a
back view suggests that some remarkable structural alterations
have been made probably without the knowledge of the Borough
Council.
23. 23, Berger Road.—Kitchen ceiling all to pieces and
flooring rotten.
