REPORT OF MEDICAL OFFICER OF HEALTH
On Allegations made by the Social Democratic Party concerning
Insanitary Properties in the Borough of Hackney,
24th November, 1908.

To the Chairman and Members
of the Public Health Committee.
Gentlemen,
In accordance with your instructions to inquire into the allegations
of the Social Democratic Party as to insanitary property
in Hackney, contained in their letter of 24th November, 1908,
and to report thereon, I beg herewith to submit the reports of
inspections of the property, with certain observations of my own
upon the subject of your reference.
I have in the first place to state that my attention was first
drawn to this subject by the statement of the Social Democratic
Party appearing in one of the local newspapers. I immediately
caused an inspection to be made by the Sanitary Inspectors in
whose districts the property was situate.
Annexed is a copy of the statement of the Social Democratic
Party, together with the reports of the Sanitary Inspectors
thereon.
For convenience of reference, I have numbered the various
places mentioned. The dates of inspections made by the Inspectors
