3s. 4d. per ton. The total cost for the removal and disposal of
house refuse in the Borough during 1907 was £14,426 7s. 9d.
Compared with 1906, this sum shows a saving of £258 17s. 10d.
upon the total cost for 1906. This saving has been effected in
the destruction of house refuse. Distributing the total cost of
the year over the whole population of the Borough, it amounts
to 1s. 2¾d. per head.
I give below the usual table showing the number of "Refusals"
and "No answers" given to the dustmen at their weekly calls:—
