Sir,
I beg to submit to you a report of the work done by me during the year 1906 in connection
with workplaces where women are employed.
The inspections made during the year may be classified as follows:—
Inspections of Factories, including Factory Laundries 78
Inspections of Workshops, including Workshop Laundries 947
(These comprise 1,558 Workrooms).
Inspection of premises of Outworkers 390
Miscellaneous re-inspections and visits 1,845
Total 3,260
Register of Workshops and Laundries.—During the year 171 premises have been added
to the Register, while 175 have been removed from it, thus leaving at the end of the year
992 workplaces containing 1,719 workrooms.
