severer cases that are sent away. It will be interesting to note that the
fatality from this disease in the Metropolitan Asylum Board hospitals has
gradually fallen from 29.3 per cent. in 1894 to 8.3 in 1905, which result is
generally ascribed to the anti-toxin treatment.
Enteric Fever.—Out of the 149 notified cases, 122 or 81.9 per cent.
were treated in hospital and of these 72 were isolated in the Metropolitan
Asylums Board hospitals.
