INQUESTS AND MORTUARY.
During the year 642 bodies were received into the Mortuary, as against
an average of 714 in the preceding 10 years.
The present return is the lowest, with one exception, recorded within this
period.
The Coroner deemed it necessary to hold 433 inquests on these bodies, as compared with an average of 438 in the 10 years 1896-1905 and with 419 in 1905.
