It has been recently stated that flies are a great factor in the contamination
of milk. This undoubtedly is true and was recognised both by Dr. Ballard
and the writer in discussing the matter together many years ago in Sunderland,
a fact which no doubt would have been published long ago if that gentleman
had lived long enough to complete the work to which he devoted so large a
proportion of the closing years of his life, and of which only a preliminary part
was published.
