Fiftieth annual report on the health and sanitary condition of the Metropolitan Borough of Islington

In the third quarter only 1,076 deaths were entered, as compared with the
corrected average of 1,310 in the preceding ten years, and they were equal to an
annual death-rate of 12.55 Per 1.000 of the population, as against a mean
death-rate of 15.27 per 1,000 in the years 1895-1904. Only once before,
namely in 1903, was so low a death rate recorded, at which time it was 12.16
per 1,000.
In the fourth quarter the deaths, which numbered 1,385, were 67 less than
the corrected average of the preceding ten years, and were equal to an annual
death rate of 16.15 per 1,000, as compared with a mean decennial rate of 16.93
per 1,000.
