Register.—During the year 70 workshops, containing 115 workrooms, have been measured
and added to the Register, whilst 11 workshops, containing 26 workrooms, have been
removed, thus making a total of 1,297 workshops, containing 1,83(5 workrooms.
Sanitary imfrovements.— I have served 249 notices for the abatement of various nuisances.
379 workshops have been cleansed and limewhited. Twenty-five w.c.'s have been provided
at various factories and workshops, whilst 283 other improvements were carried out under
my supervision.
I have reported through you to H.M. Inspector of Factories, as required by Section 27
of the Public Health Act, 1891, the addresses of five workshops in the Borough where young
people under the age of 18 years were employed.
