Inspection of Premises where Pood is Prepared or
Stored (other than Bakehouses, Milk Shops, Eating Houses, and
Slaughter Houses).
The premises inspected during the year, together with the nature of the business carried on, were as follows:—

586 Inspections were made of these premises during the year,
and 19 Notices were served. No prosecutions were instituted.
Sale of Food and Drugs Acts.
The number of samples taken for analysis under the Sale of
Food and Drugs Acts during the year was 407. The number
certified by the Public Analyst to be adulterated was 36, or 8.8 per
cent. of the total number. The corresponding percentage in 1906
was 4.8; in 1905 it was 1.9.
340 samples were purchased from Hampstead tradesmen, and
67 from persons residing without, but trading within the Borough.
The percentages of adulterated samples in these two classes were
7.1 and 17.9 respectively.
22 samples were taken on Hampstead Heath on Bank Holidays,
and of these 8, or 36 per cent., were adulterated.
31 samples were taken on Sundays, and one of this number was
found to be adulterated.
