NOTIFIABLE INFECTIOUS DISEASES.
The total cases of infectious diseases notified numbered 498.
This is equivalent to an attack-rate of 5.5 per 1,000 of the population.
The following shows the number of cases of each disease notified:—
Small Pox 1
Scarlet Fever 314
Enteric Fever 19
Diphtheria and Membranous Croup 103
Puerperal Fever 4
Erysipelas 57
The number of fatal cases was 15, equal to 3.0 per cent. of the cases notified. The deaths were distributed as follows:—

The death rate from the notifiable infectious diseases was,
therefore, 0.6 per 1,000 of the population.
