The "Infantile Mortality," i.e., the number of deaths under one
year per 1000 births registered was 73. This is lower than
the corresponding figure in 1906, which was 77, and is in fact the
lowest infantile mortality ever recorded in Hampstead. The
average rate for the years 1897-1906 was 104.
