Relation of Season.-In 1907 the average four-foot earth
temperature in the third quarter of the year was 57.2, but a
higher temperature than usual occurred in October. The rainfall
was low. On the whole the summer was not so unfavourable
as that of 1906 (see Report 1906, pp. 103-105). In the third
quarter there were only 17 deaths from this disease as compared
with 100 last year.
