B.—RECORDS OF DISEASE.
THE INFECTIOUS DISEASES
The principal Infectious Diseases are seven in number,
namely Small-pox, Scarlet Fever, Diphtheria, Fever (including
typhus, typhoid or enteric, and simple or continued), Diarrhoea,
Measles, and Whooping Cough. The notification clauses of the
Public Health (London) Act, 1891 (Sections 55-57), deal with
small-pox, cholera, diphtheria and membranous croup, erysipelas,
scarlet fever, typhus, typhoid, relapsing, continued and puerperal
fevers.
During 1907 there were 735 notifications, as compared with 764 in 1906, and 745 in 1905. The returns as forwarded to the Metropolitan Asylums Board are as follows:-
