Information was received from the Medical Officer of Health
of Shrewsbury that a resident of Fulham, working in Shrewsbury,
who had been notified to him as suffering from Scarlet
Fever, had left there and returned to his home in Fulham.
The man was seen at his residence, found to be suffering, as
stated, from Scarlet Fever, and removed to the Western Fever
Hospital. As he had travelled up by train from Shrewsbury
when knowing himself to be suffering from an infectious
disease, and thereby must have endangered the health of many
people with whom he had come in contact, the Public
Health Committee were advised to take proceedings
against him under the Public Health Act, for wilfully exposing
himself when suffering from Scarlet Fever, but decided to take
no action in the matter.
