tubercular meningitis, 11 to tubercular peritonitis, 31 to general
tuberculosis, 1 to tubercular disease of the larynx, and 7 to
other forms of the disease. In 1906 the total number of deaths
from tuberculosis was 308, and in 1905 323.
The following table shows the death-rate from phthisis and other tubercular diseases per 100,000 persons in each year since 1892:—

The above table exhibits a distinct decline in the deaths
from tubercular disease. Taking the ten years 1892-1901, the
average death-rate from these diseases is 18 per cent, higher
than in 1907.
