Total number of articles disinfected with Formalin lamp in
Formalin Chamber during 1908, was 597.
Fifty-three casks of Sanitas Powder each weighing one hundredweight,
and making up 3,710 packets, have been distributed from the
Offices.
Three hundred and twenty-eight 1-pint bottles of Sanitas Fluid
and 216: —1-pint tins of Izal Fluid have also been distributed from the
Offices—68 gallons in all.
Seventeen hundred-weight of Sulphur Candles has been used in
the disinfection of rooms throughout the year. One gallon of 40 per
cent. Formaldehyde Solution has been used in spraying the walls of
rooms, and 6 lbs. of Formalin Tablets have been used for fumigating
in certain cases in place of Sulphur Candles.
1½ gallons of Carbolic Acid have been used for disinfection in
conection with cases of Enteric Fever.
