Illness of
Members of
Staff.
It is impossible to indicate even briefly the entire detail work
carried out in the Health Office of a Borough constituted as ours
is, but I believe the most important matters have been dealt with
and I trust sufficient has been adduced to show that every effort
has been made by the staff to keep the Borough in as good
a sanitary condition as possible, having regard to all the
circumstances.
As regards the staff the year under notice has been a
somewhat unfortunate and trying one. We have, I regret to say,
experienced a greater amount of sickness than in any similar
period. Following the illness of Mr. Henley there followed that
of Mr. Bridel, and I deeply regret to have to add, that although
the first officer has returned in restored good health, the other is
still absent, and up to the time of writing there appears to be no
immediate prospect of his resuming.
The duties of the absent officers were cheerfully undertaken
by the rest of the staff, who at great inconvenience to themselves
took up the work, which so far has not suffered.
Respectfully tendering my best thanks for the continued
support of your Committee.
I am, Mr. Chairman and Gentlemen,
Your obedient servant,
JOHN FOOT,
Chief Sanitary Inspector.
Member Royal Institute of Public Health.
